Equipment
All pistols shall be serviceable and safe. The Indoor Combat Pistol League requires that all pistols be .380 ACP or larger. If the Range Officer determines that a shooter's pistol is not operational or safe, the RO will request the shooter to withdraw.
With prior approval of the Match Director, calibers smaller than .380 ACP may be used by a shooter. The score of a shooter using smaller than .380 ACP will not qualify for match placement or year end scoring.
No magnum velocity ammunition will be allowed in the Indoor Combat Match.
Use of compensated pistols, such as the C model glocks, or compenstated race guns is STRONGLY discouraged. The reason for this is two fold. First, we shoot on an indoor range, and compensated pistols are very loud, and because 99.9% of the shooters aren't shooting compensated pistols, it is rude to expose our fellow shooters to this auditory abuse. Second, is that our match is oriented toward firearms that would be used in defensive situations, a catagory which I believe compensated pistols do not fit. If you don't believe me, try firing your compensated pistol from a retention position. After you put out your burning eyebrows you'll probably agree.
A shooter must use the same pistol throughout the entire match. In the event a shooter's pistol malfunctions and can not be used to continue the match, a substitute, or borrowed pistol can be used if it is the same general type and class. The Match Director must be notified in the event a replacement pistol is required.
Each shooter will be required to provide a safe holster for matches. Holsters are required to come up to the front of the ejection port and cover the trigger guard. In the event that the holster does not fully cover the ejection port, a safety strap is required and must be engaged when the pistol is in the holster.
No shoulder holsters, cross draw holsters, SOB (small of the back), or tactical thigh drop holsters will be allowed in the Indoor Combat Match.
The exception to the holster rules is active duty police or military with prior approval from the Match Director.
In the event a shooter's pistol should fall from their holster at any time during a match, the shooter will be disqualified.
In an effort to remain in a practical mode, the shooter is required to come to the line with a holstered unloaded pistol and all necessary equipment, ready to load and commence fire at the Range Officer's command.
