Scoring
Scoring.
All matches are scored on the basis of time. A shooter's time is calculated by adding penalty points to the elapsed time per stage as determined by the match score keeper. Penalty points are added by the following schedule:
| Penalty | Points |
|---|---|
| Miss | 20 Seconds |
| Hostage (No Shoot) | 40 Seconds |
| Procedural | 60 Seconds |
| Safety | Disqualification |
Placement in the match is determined by the lowest combined time and penalty points. Shooters must be present at the conclusion of the match to be eligible for trophies.
In order to encourage members and non-members to help in the staging of matches, anyone who designs, sets-up and assists in the running of a stage will not be required to pay for the match.
Any individual wishing to setup a stage, or an entire match, should contact the Match Director and submit a written description of the course one month prior to the proposed match date.
All USPSA targets used in the Indoor Combat Match will be scored using the following criteria:
- All hostage targets are impenetrable, shoot targets are not. This means that if a bullet penetrates a shoot target and strikes a no shoot target, the shooter will receive a Hostage penalty. On the other hand, if a bullet strikes a shoot target after penetrating a no shoot target, the shooter will not receive credit for the hit on the shoot target but will be assessed the hostage penalty. Murphy rules here.
- A hit that touches or breaks a line shall be scored with the highest area defined by the line and only scores on one target, the top most target.
- The Match Director has the authority to modify any scoring procedure to accommodate match setup. Changes to the published criteria will be covered during the shooters meeting.
